Our History

The team at Community Reinvestment started off in the real estate finance industry, working with mortgage financing, credit repair, down payment assistance and federal housing grants. All of this experience set the foundation for who we are today. We developed strong relationships with lenders and financial institutions and after 15 years, we were able to guide people through the complicated home buying process.

We had then found a problem with our process. While we had become masters of credit repair and financial counseling, our customers were having to pick their future homes from a selection of houses that were being sold for the wrong reasons. Corporate real estate firms and "House Flippers" were offering no more than a coat of paint on their houses. Their goal was to make a quick profit and had no interest in the family's future in that home. This would leave our valued customers facing the possibility of putting their hard earned money into a home that was unfinished and in need of costly repairs. We had to change this for our customers.

At this point we were experts at the credit repair side, but we had to find a way to provide quality homes to our customers. After researching, we found the best contractors in the Cleveland area and worked with them to develop a rehabbing process and standard of quality that could be applied to virtually any home in Northeastern Ohio. Instead of being forced to take a house as is/where is, this effectively made it possible for our customers to choose their home based on size, number of bedrooms and location, and we in turn would bring it up to spec.
